Beta terms

DraftLocker is operated by The Yard Lab Publishing Group LLC (“we”). These terms cover the free beta. They are short on purpose.

What this is

DraftLocker catalogues documentation you give us about how a manuscript was written, has a human examiner perform defined procedures against it, and publishes a record of what was found. That record is a statement of facts about the documents. It is not a certification, a rating, or an opinion about who wrote your work, and it cannot prove that no generative AI was used. We do not tell anyone what to conclude from it.

It is a beta

The service is free while it is in beta, and it may change, pause or end without notice. It is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Examination times are not guaranteed. Do not rely on it as your only copy of anything: keep your own originals.

Your work stays yours

You keep all rights in your manuscript and in everything you upload. You give us permission to store it, to let our examiners read it, and to produce the records and cards you ask for, for as long as it takes to provide the service. We do not publish your manuscript or your files, and we do not use them to train any AI model.

How long we keep your files

We keep the proof, not the files. The files you upload (your manuscript and your evidence) are deleted 30 days after your record is published or the submission is refused or withdrawn, sooner if you choose or ask us to, and after 90 days without activity if you never send the submission. What stays is a fingerprint (SHA-256), name, size and description of each file, the examiner’s findings and the signed record. Examiners may open a file to do the work, and must delete their working copies when the examination ends. Your profile photo stays until you remove it.

What you promise

Records and cards

A published record is public in the register by its code, and shows what the examiner found and the limits of those findings. A card is private to the link you send. Anyone with a link can open it, so send each link only to the person it is for, and withdraw it if it goes astray. We may withdraw a record that we find to be inaccurate or misused; a withdrawn record remains in the register as withdrawn.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, The Yard Lab Publishing Group LLC is not liable for lost opportunities, lost profits or indirect losses arising from the beta, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us, which in the beta is nothing.
